Media “I” Visa

All journalists going to the United States to cover an event or a story are required to hold a visa; in most cases this will be a media visa (I Visa). For information on and requirements to obtaining your I Visa, please visit the Visas Section. The Public Affairs Section is unable to answer questions or provide information on any type of visa. Such questions must be directed to the Consular Section, or check the Embassy website for comprehensive information.

The Foreign Press Center

The Foreign Press Center is a section of the State Department created to assist foreign journalists working in the United States. They have offices in Washington D.C. and New York. If you are traveling to the United States, they may be of assistance.
