My Fellow Americans:
As these past few weeks have shown, we’re entering unfamiliar territory. While we’ve dealt with viruses in the past (e.g., SARS, H1N1, etc.), the scale and scope of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) have forced unprecedented change to nearly all facets of our lives.
One thing that will never change is our solemn commitment to your safety and security. However, in the current situation, this important mission now calls for innovative and flexible approaches.
In this spirit, I have tasked my consular team to develop new ways to provide services to American citizens in Sweden, accounting for the new challenges to work/school schedules, travel, and other considerations. Next week, we will be introducing some of these approaches with you, so please stay tuned.
In addition, you’ll be hearing more from us by email, though our Embassy website, and by following us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. As your Ambassador, I also welcome you to follow me at @usambsweden on Instagram and on my official Twitter account.
Of course, we’re in this together, so if you have any suggestions on how we may better serve the American community in Sweden, please contact our American Citizens Services staff at StkACSinfo@state.gov.
Let’s all continue to help each other out, maintain social distancing, and wash our hands!
Very sincerely yours,
Ambassador Ken Howery
