The American Citizens Services (ACS) unit will resume limited passport and notarial service appointments beginning Monday, July 20. To schedule an appointment, please refer to each service’s appointment booking procedures. Please be advised that if you have an emergency and/or immediate travel and you are unable to book an appointment online, you may contact the ACS unit by email at StkACSinfo@state.gov. If you are eligible to renew your passport by mail, use this option to avoid wait times for an in-person appointment.
The ACS unit will also resume limited appointments for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, please review the instructions online for more information on required documents and scheduling an appointment.
Travelers are urged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
Effective May 26th, all visitors to the U.S. Embassy, including those for U.S. Citizen services and visa appointments, are required to wear face coverings at all times while inside the Embassy and Consular Section. Visitors are expected to bring their own masks/face coverings when visiting and may be turned away if they are unable to comply with this requirement. Air Travel to the United States: Many travelers in Sweden have reported unexpected flight cancellations and limited flight availability. If your travel has been disrupted, please contact your airline. U.S. citizens who are considering returning to the United States are urged to work directly with their airlines to make travel arrangements while flights are still available.
The American Citizen Services (ACS) unit provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in Sweden. The American Citizen Services Unit is located in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy. We are open to the public on weekdays between 12:00 and 14:00, except for Swedish and American holidays.

Please note: If you plan to make your payment for in-person services at the U.S. Embassy with a credit or debit card, ensure that your card is capable of processing a foreign transaction. All credit or debit card payments processed at the U.S. Embassy are managed as transactions placed in the United States.
